A weekend of awesomeness & epic fails

A weekend of awesomeness and epic fails This is Tamara. Kay threw his drumsticks into the audience last night & she caught 'em. Problem was, I called it one song too early so he needed them back. She pushed her way to the front of the crowd (not easy at a festival) & saved the day. These guys had been waiting 2 years to see us live & demonstrated some excellent stickering skills too. So… why did we only have one pair of drumsticks? Here are the bizarre series of fails we had this weekend:
  1. Kay put his cymbal & drumstick bag on top of the car after our Munich show on Friday. We drove off without them. He may or may not have been intoxicated when he did it.
  2. Adil broke a string in the most epic part of his bass solo last night.
  3. We couldn't start the tour van after last night's show because we left the lights on.
  4. Using google maps to walk to the hotel is great if you've got reception. If not, you end up on a 2 hour scenic tour at 3 in the morning.
You can't help but laugh. The shows were great & the crowds were rockin'. An awesome & very memorable weekend. -Raj

Busking in Berlin - All My Life (Foo Fighters cover)

At the beginning of this year we decided to take a break from non-stop touring to work on a new record. As usual we ended up in Berlin- our home away from home since we began living on the road in 2010. Grungy, cheap and overflowing with artists, it's an inspiring city and our favourite place to catch our breath.

We've been busking a lot to cover our food and rent. It's been frustrating at times since we're most at home on stage with amps cranked to 11. But it's also a lot of fun.

We make more money when we thrown in a few covers- here's one we played at Mauerpark last Sunday. Complete with crazy local dancing.

You're Gonna be a Star

'Lights go down and suddenly Do the line you need to find your feet. And they're calling out your name to the beat. And they said you'd come to nothing... Lip injections and you're pouting harder, you're gonna need; Sunny weather so you'll tan like leather, you're gonna need; Plastic breasts 'cause you're gonna be a star. I'm wrong, you'll never be. You promote and fight and referee. Left your conscience lying at the back row's feet. And you’re working you’re way up on your knees Fat cat’s got your tongue... Lip injections and you're pouting harder, you're gonna need; Sunny weather so you'll tan like leather, you're gonna need; Plastic breasts 'cause you're gonna be a star. Lights go down and suddenly Do the lines you need to find your feet. And they're calling out your name to the beat... Lip injections and you're pouting harder, you're gonna need; Sunny weather so you'll tan like leather, you're gonna need; Plastic breasts 'cause you gotta be Fuller chested, you gotta be Longer legged, you gotta be Brain dissected, you’re gonna be a star.' Privatclub July 24 - Our one, very special 2014 Berlin show

It's been an intense few months since we landed in Berlin this year. We've built a studio in the old east side of the city, driven across Europe, played some festivals & done an insane amount of busking to pay the rent. In between that we've also been working on a new record. We weren't planning on doing a Berlin show till we returned from the US, but you guys have changed our mind. The support we've received in this place has been amazing and humbling. And, even though playing semi-acoustic on the street has been fun, it's been pretty frustrating. We need amps... on a stage... with a pumping, sweaty crowd. So here it is. Our one, very special 2014 Berlin show. It's a celebration of our journey so far and of where it's led us. And a farewell to our fans and friends in Berlin before we leave for the States. We hope you can join us! Share this and invite your friends to spread the word- we'd love to pack the place out: facebook.com/events/1466311183612425/ 2014-07-24 Privatclub - The Sunpilots (AUS) + Bunny Suit (DE) + Mynolia (CAN)
