Den Helder was where we discovered how crazy the Dutch are about cycling. Took this photo on the edge of a cliff overlooking the North Sea. Somewhere on the other side of that blue haze is the UK. It was the middle of winter & this dude was happily pedalling home through gale force winds...

As our drummer Kay keeps reminding us, never get between a Dutch guy & his bicycle!

We crashed in the attic above the bar. Did that a lot this tour... The noise can make it hard to sleep, which sucks when you've gotta drive 8 hrs the next day. But it saved us heaps of cash & was super convenient. Plus there's something about camping out between beer kegs that never gets old.

We've have a little Amsterdam ritual. It involves hitting up a 'coffee shop', heading to the bohemian part of the city & soaking up the vibe.

One tends to leave these 'coffee shops' with serious munchies. Luckily the good people of Amsterdam have found a solution- food walls! Put in a coin & pull out some epic Dutch food. Tried "kroket" this time- minced beef, herbs, potato, onions, cheese... so good.

But the best part about the 'Dam is the people. Met to two French dudes travelling across Europe by bicycle, a street musician from Morocco & some crazy Scandinavian students. Awesome city!

Amsterdam! Played at a grungy little dive bar called 'Malo Melo'. Jerry (the owner) gave us cigars & showed us his collection of novelty bar towels before the gig. Cool guy- imagine a cross between a biker & an old grizzly commando.

One of the speakers wasn't working so we got creative... Ended up putting the vocals through a guitar amp. Did the job, although we sounded a bit trash metal!
