Hamburg is a city with 2 faces. By day it’s all business. By night it’s all about The Reeperbahn with its red light district, grungy bars & live music.
We arrived at the venue around 7pm. It was a little dive bar with a graffiti covered door, peeling 70’s wallpaper & tattered red cushions. Grabbed a kebab from the diner across the road (which was sandwiched between two sex shops, of course) then kicked off soundcheck.
The night had a real house party vibe! The bar only held 40-50 people so it was a tight fit. There’s an awesome live music culture in Hamburg- possibly the best in Germany for rock. Kids walking past heard us playing, peered in the window & ended up rocking out in front of the stage.
On the road to the Netherlands now. First Dutch show of the tour tomorrow.
